Figure 1A: Human macrophages were treated with increasing doses of TNFa. Using PCR, the levels of mRNA were measured. As the dose of mRNA increased, the level of ABCA1 mRNA decreased.

Figure 1: Human macrophages were labeled with 3H-cholesterol. TNFa was added to the cell cultures in increasing doses. apoA-I or HDL were added. The figures show that cholesterol efflux decreased in a dose-dependent manner in cells treated with TNFa.

Consistent with the altered neuronal growth in the larval CNS culture [24], neurons in Abl cultures displayed... more swollen, dark nodes along neurites (Fig. 4B1).

Compared to WT control, Abl neurons exhibited tendency to show fewer veil-like structures and well developed, large lamellipodia (>4 µm2) occurred only at a lower frequency (Fig. 5)

Figure 1A shows staining of C2C12 cells expressing FoxO1-3A-ER. The cells were immunostained using anti-ER and DAPI nuclear staining. The control showed some overlap of areas showing staining for FoxO1-3A-ER and DAPI(nuclear stain), but when the cells were treated with 4-HT, there was more overlap of FoxO1-3A-ER and DAPI stained areas. This suggests after treatment with 4-HT, FoxO1-3A-ER was located in the nucleus.
