Figure 4 shows a comparison of the wild type and mutant phenotype when grown in phosphate minimal media. The mutant that had ppk knocked out had a significant lower amount of growth in the minimal media supporting the claim that ppk is necessary for growth in phosphate lacking environments.

Figure 3 depicts the activity of isocitrate dehydrogenase. The over expressed IDH2 plasmid is shown to have the highest amount of activity, supporting the claim that IDH2 over expression is correlated with colon cancer.
