Figure 5e, 5f. YeaZ null mutants show sensitivity to cisplatin and MMC. Cisplatin and MMC cause DNA cross links, which will then inhibit replication. Implying that the YeaZ gene is required for repair of DNA cross links.

Figure 3C. YgjD is required for t6a modification of tRNAs. E. coli was grown with the inducible arabinose promotor, instead of the ygjD promotor. This strain, with the arabinose promotor, was then grown in the presence and absence of arabinose. In the presence of arabinose the t6a/A ratio was approximately 40 times higher then in the absence of arabinose.

Figure 4 shows that gamma radiation sensitivity increases in recA mutants. Figure 6 illustrates that DNA repair in recA mutants started becoming visible at 24 hours.

Figure 4B. recF mutants have a higher sensitivity to gamma radiation. In Figure 6A DNA repair of the recF mutant is shown by gel electrophoresis.

Figure 4B illustrates that doses of gamma radiation causes decreased cell survival in recO mutants. Figure 6A shows reassembly of DNA fragments around 24 hours after irradiation.

In Figure 4B cells with recR mutants show an increased sensitivity to gamma radiation. Figure 6A illustrates that there is repair of DNA fragments 24 hours after irradiation.
