Figure 5A shows a flagged YciB being expressed in Bacillus subtilis and analyzed via immunofluorescence. The arrows within the figure are locating areas with a main concentration of Ycib-FLAG. These locations are near areas of division and cell poles.

In Figure 1B, wild-type cells of E. coli were fixed and the FtsN protein was visualized via immunofluorescence microscopy. FtsN is shown to be localized at the septum, indicated by the arrows.

In Figure 6B, DprA is shown to facilitate the annealing of DNA in the present of single-stranded binding proteins via gel electrophoresis. Both double-stranded and single-stranded DNA are present when DprA is present. Only single-stranded DNA is present in the absence of DprA.

Figure 4A shows the localization of IcsA at the polar caps, shown by the arrows, in a wild-type strain of S. flexneri. This was detected by indirect immunofluorescence using an antibody to IcsA.
