The original GO term was wrong because the KO mutants had fully functional organs and were anatomically correct when compared to the WT sample. They could just not achieve the same weight as the WT did. And since the active gene is associated with the normal WT size, then the Smoothened gene must be involved in positively regulating growth of the organism. | 5 |
