Figure 2 demonstrated that "LaMP is strictly specific for maltose"; and "the LaMP/acarbose model reflects the strict specificity toward maltose shown for wild-type LaMP" as demonstrated in figure 2B. Table 2 also showed the kinetic parameters for phosphorolysis of maltose by lamP wild-type and loop 3 variants. The table demonstrated that the loop 3 variants is specific for the phophorolysis of maltose. Phosphorolysis and reverse phosphorolysis activity of the oligosaccharides produced by LaMP loop 3 variants demonstrated in Figure 3 and Figure 4
