Challenge | TJawed, Team Purple A | 2018-03-20 22:20:56 CDT | Although the figure was comparing to a nonsense mutation, the overall evidence for the activity for HK97 gp15 inhibiting phage infection came from the western blot which would be in accordance with evidence code IEP: Inferred from Expression Pattern. | None, yet.
Challenge | DFrank, Team Green A 2018 | 2018-03-19 13:07:39 CDT | I agree with your GO term and the evidence, but I think your reasoning could be stronger. Figure 4 could also be used as further evidence, as it supports the hypothesis that gp15 specifically prevents other phage DNA from entering the already infected cell. You might even want to consider creating a new GO term specifying that "superinfection exclusion through DNA entry prevention", to make the GO term fit even better. | 1

Public Assessment | Scaruso | 2018-03-23 10:02:33 CDT | Interesting figure and paper. This is a better GO term than including the mechanism: "exclusion through DNA entry prevention," since it is not shown in Fig. 1, only the prevention of infection. However, a more detailed description of the figure is needed. It doesn't need to be long, but it does need to describe in the notes how Figure 1 shows the GO annotation in a couple sentences using the plaque assays to compare the different conditions and western blots to confirm the presence of the protein. | Requires Changes ✔ Protein ✔ Publication ✔ Qualifier ✔ Go term ✔ Evidence ✔ With/From ✗ Notes ✔ Unique/Original |
