Figure 3 parts C and D shows that the penicillin excreted/produced is significantly more in the P. chrysogenum TAT15 and TAT53 transformants carrying the A. chrysogenum cefT gene than the P. chrysogenum T98 strain that did not contain the gene.

In Figure 3, the line with the triangle markers shows the production of benzylpenicillin. In C. acremonium without the penDE gene, there was none produced, but in the transformants with the penDE gene the benzylpenicillin was produced.
