Challenge | Michelel, MichSt14A 16 | 2014-04-07 13:24:14 CDT | Figure 2a in this paper demonstrates the binding of a nonhydrolyzable analog of GTP to the mu receptor, not GTP. Therefore, increased binding of of this analog does not demonstrate GTPase activity (which is the hydrolysis of GTP) because this analog is not being hydrolyzed. The actual activity that is occurring in this figure is just GTP binding, which you can't use as a GO term because it is binding. I propose that you try and use GO:0004930, G-protein coupled receptor activity, because the signal (morphine), is causing GTP to bind and initiate a G-protein couple receptor. | 5 |
