Challenge | Lrodgers, Team KremlinOnTheCrum | 2011-09-28 19:12:16 CDT | This is a rebuttal to Team Angry Squirrels' challenge. The Go term I suggest is the appropriate term. The definition of this term is the catalysis of the reaction: UDP-glucose + G6P = UDP + T6P. The Tps1 protein annotated here does this reaction exactly. Look at the model in Figure 1 and the direct evidence from Figure 2 and Table 3. The GO term 0004805 you suggest does not exist. However the trehalose-phosphatase activity you suggest for Tps1 is incorrect. Trehalose phosphatase enzymes dephosphorylate T6P into trehalose. The protein involved in this reaction is Tps2. Tps2 is also characterized in this paper by Ngamskulrungroj et al. | 4 |
