Bio

I am a senior Molecular and Cell biology major, and this is my fourth semester to be involved in CACAO. I will be heading to a top graduate school in biophysics next fall and hope research the physical basis of macromolecular function (or at least that's what I think right now). I want to bring a quantitative approach to the biochemical problems I address and enable the application of engineering approaches to biochemistry.

Dr. Hu's awesome letter of rec allowed me to do research at Princeton last summer where I worked with Dr. Benjamin Garcia and used mass spectrometry to quantify levels of histone H1 variants in cancer cells. During the semester I work with Dr. Young in Biochemistry. I completed a project on annotating a phage genome and determining the genomic termini. Now I am working on purifying and characterizing a phage tailspike that has polysaccharide depolymerase activity.
