regulation of transcription regulator activity

PMID:21345178[1]

IMP: Inferred from Mutant Phenotype

P

OmpR was found to have an effect on 224 genes based on cDNA microarray data, representing 4% of the proteins in the cell. 16 genes were validated to have OmpR-dependent transcription, including ompR, ompC, ompF, and ompX, which were further classified. Figure 2 gives a comparison of mRNA levels between WT and ompR mutant using RT-PCR and LacZ fusion. OmpC, ompF, and ompZ show between a 3 and 25-fold decrease in expression in the mutant.

Figure 1 shows a decreased survival when exposed to high osmolarity, high temperature, and low pH for the ompR mutant as well as a higher rate of phagocytosis.
