rpfC and rpfG make up a two component system that is responsible for the perception and transduction a signal molecule . Figure 1 shows that rpfG is involved in the enhancement of Xanthomona citri virulence. Mutations rpfG showed a reduction in the virulence of X. citri as measured by canker lesions on the Duncan Grapefruit leaf.
