The correct go term is GO:0015106 (bicarbonate transmembrane transporter activity).

The original term isn't wrong because it's a binding term (it isn't a binding term, it's a component term), but because the protein isn't shown to be part of that complex in this figure. The suggested term is right- but overexpression that is assumed to show the normal function is IDA, not IMP.

This annotation has been flagged because it has been edited since last assessment ||GO:0043190||ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter complex||PMID:10557362||IMP: Inferred from Mutant Phenotype||||C||Figure 3 shows that when a mutant placing the cmpABCD ABC transporter complex after a nitrogen-inducible promoter, the mutant took up high amounts of bicarbonate when grown in high bicarbonate media. Comparatively, the WT grown under these same conditions had a negligible uptake of bicarbonate. When grown in media containing ammonium and high amounts of bicarbonate, the mutant has low bicarbonate uptake because the transporter was not induced by nitrogen, so nothing in the cell is taking up bicarbonate. ||complete
