They say that it is IDA; however, in this figure they cause an overexpression of LHX2 in order to determine its function, i.e. thalamocortical axon guidance. I think the evidence code should be IMP because the scientist in this article induce this overexpression which allowed them to deduce its function. This also fits under one of the definitions of the evidence code IMP: "overexpression or ectopic expression of wild-type or mutant gene that results in aberrant behavior of the system or aberrant expression where the resulting mutant phenotype is used to make a judgment about the normal activity of that gene product" | 3 |
