Evidence code should be ISA. HtrA "contains the conserved active-site residues characteristic of serine proteases (His92-Asp123-Ser197)". Based on this original knowledge, serine was replaced with alanine in the active site to generate a mutant phenotype which was then used to confirm the protease activity through casein degredation (figure 1).
