It is not allowed because binding terms need the IPI evidence code, which is not allowed for this competition. The following is directly from the rules: "No annotations to binding terms will be accepted (ie. Protein binding, ATP binding, etc)."

How is it not allowed? I don't understand your challenge. All GO Terms are allowed unless they are wrong.

Bren supports the challenge because the rules of CACAO do not allow binding term annotations. The challenger is making a correct and accurate challenge in accordance with the rules and has pointed out an annotation that would otherwise be removed from the CACAO set submitted to other databases since we filter out binding terms anyways. In addition, the binding terms are still being optimized by the GO consortium & may in the end require an entry in the with/from field that has the ChEBI identifier for what is being bound. At that point, all annotations made to binding terms would have to be reviewed & reannotated anyways. Thus, I created a rule to exclude binding terms for this and other reasons from CACAO.
