I would start off with introducing the gene of interest the researchers are working with. In this case it is EF0737, a novel enzyme protein that has an amidase role in E. faecalis. The evidence of EF0737 binding to plasma proteins, such as fibrinogen was proved by seeing a positive reaction of recombinant EF0737 with fibrinogen, through western blot (Fig. 6).
