Figure 8 shows the activity of UGT74S1 on SECO as a substrate. Panel A is the negative control with no enzyme present. The only peak corresponds to SECO. Panel B shows the peaks formed when 50 microliters of crude UGT74S1 is added. The additional peaks correspond to the standards for SMG and SDG, as shown in panels D and E., implying transfer of the glucose from UDP-glucose to SECO. Figure 9 confirms this with purified enzyme. |
