Figure 3 indicates that gp13 within phage SPP1 functions as a major capsid protein. The protein composition of purified procapsids was checked by SDS-PAGE stained with Coomassie blue to confirm the presence of the major procapsid proteins gp11 (scaffolding protein) and gp13 (major capsid protein).
