In figure 2(a-b) CHLM (wt) showed higher absorbances at approximately 450nm and 650nm with a higher florescence at 630 nm, demonstrating chlorophyll was present in the wildtype and not in the mutant. In c, magnesium protoporphyrin IX methyltransferase is needed to add a methyl onto magnesium protoporphyrin IX (reactant) since a build up of this reactant was seen in the mutant.

In figure 2C, methyl transferase activity was observed as florescence of Mg protoporphyrin IX methyl ester was observed in the wildtype CHLM but not in the mutant chlm. The presence of chlorophyll was also observed in the wildtype CHLM,represented by CHLM fluorescences at 630nm, but not in the mutant chlm,figure 2B.
