The authors drew the conclusion of AlkL being involved in transporting DAME through the outer membrane based off the difference seen between pBT10 and pBTL10 as both demonstrated high expression of AlkBGT (which is shown to catalyze fatty acid methyl esters in Fig. 1) while pBT10 did not express AlkL and pBTL10 expressed AlkL highly.	challenge
