Challenge | Mitch610, Team Team TATAboxxx | 2013-04-16 11:54:33 CDT | GO:0004222 metalloendopeptidase activity is the protein's function. The protein in SEPLE should be A8CF63, which is Astacin-like squid metalloprotease type I. Figure 6 shows a wild type (WT) ALSM-I gene and a mutant truncated gene. In figure 6B, the expressed proteins were immunodetected and run on a gel. The WT produced a gene product of roughly 45kDa that the mutant gene did not produce. Then, in figure 6C, this gene product was incubated with myosin. The WT gene product, which is believed to be the ALSM-I, is in different forms in lanes 2 and 3. Lane 4 has the mutant gene product. When they did gel electrophoresis of the products of the gene and the myosin, the WT proteins cleaved the myosin into more small fragments than the mutant. | 0 |
