Later on in the discussion it states that the GerD protein "is expressed in the forespore during sporulation". A forespore is a precursor to a spore and creates it plasma membrane from the bacteria membrane. The forespore contains two extracellular walls and a unit membrane. The unit membrane would be the correct GO term, but since there are next to no Go terms for spores then the next best GO term would be spore wall (GO:0031160).

I suggest using the GO term 'GO:0031224 intrinsic component of membrane'.

Better GO term would be GO:0072659: Protein localization to plasma membrane
