The single mutant, FJ1, lacking cyc cy was able to grow photosynthetically but the double mutant, FJ2, lacking both cytochromes c2 and cy was unable to do so (Table I). This demonstrates that cyt-cy (cycy) is essential for soluble cyt c2-independent photoheterotrophic growth in R. capsulatus. |
