Figure 2 shows the absorbance and luminescence of cultures of L. Casei with a luciferase gene transcriptionally fused to different genes under the control of separately regulated promoters. The level of expression of the ccpA gene leveled off to zero as the culture grew. Therefore, as the culture grows, the ccpA gene is less expressed due to a decrease in the need for its gene product. |
