Fig 7B, 8B. The Hpscut gene region, which is thought to be the region of carbon monoxide dehydrogenase activity, was cloned and expressed in E. coli as 2 subclones, pBKX1 and pBKS2. These subclones had slightly different hybridization characteristics. Western blot analysis using antisera to large and medium subunits of HpsCut revealed that CutL and CutM were produced in E. coli harboring pBKX1 and a derivative of pBKS2. |
