Pon rapidly exchange between a cytoplasmic pool and the cell cortex and that preferential recruitment from the cytoplasm is responsible for its asymmetric distribution during mitosis. This is evident in Figure 1 in which distinct phases of Pon asymmetric localization are discussed. Figure 1E in particular shows the direct recruitment model from the cytoplasm.
