In the paper, the gene sequence of Diaphorina citri is compared in a sequence analysis with Nilaparvata lugens, Aphis citricidus, Riportus pedestris, and Acyrthosiphon pisum. Figure 1 shows this sequence alignment. The other bacteria in the alignment display similar cathepsin B-like cysteine peptidase activity from hemipterans. The dashed boxes in Figure 1 display a probable occlusion loop characteristic of cathepsin B-like cysteine peptidases. |
