GO Term (GitHub) Requests
Ask us for help if this is your first Term Request. You'll need to read through this NTR Guide as well. Making an entry here only reminds us you have made a term request on the proper page, this table is not where the GO Consortium will address your requests. You must do that on GitHub.
If you do not yet have a GitHub ticket for your request, you should not edit this table.

When I look on QuickGO and AmiGO, the definition for the termGO:0031297 (replication fork processing) is "The process in which a DNA replication fork that has stalled is to a functional state and replication is restarted..." I believe that there is an error in this definition and it should read "The process in which a DNA replication fork that has stalled is RESTORED to a functional state and replication is restarted..."

Name: Regulation of Golgi lumen acidification Definition: Any process that modulates the frequency, rate, or extent of a process that reduces the internal pH of the Golgi lumen. Aspect: cellular process Relationships: Parent term -GO:0032847 regulation of cellular pH reductions; sibling term toGO:1901546 regulation of synaptic vesicle lumen acidification Reference: PMID:23447592[1], particularly figure 5

replication fork arrest |
accepted by GOC |
I was unsure thatGO:0043111 (replication fork arrest), always related to its parent termGO:0045005 (DNA-dependent DNA replication maintenance of fidelity), so I proposed that the relationship between these two terms be modified. This resulted in the modification of the definition ofGO:0043111 (replication fork arrest). The definition was changed to "Any process that stops, prevents, or reduces the frequency, rate or extent of DNA replication by impeding the progress of the DNA replication fork. Replication fork arrest is one of the 'quality control' processes ensuring that DNA-dependent DNA replication occurs correctly. DNA replication fork arrest during DNA-dependent DNA replication is not known to occur outside of cases where a replication error needs to be prevented or corrected."
