The study used a coupling assay with further down step reactions to measure the conversion of L-amino acid to D-amino acid with this enzyme. When placed into solution with the enzyme, only ornithine was converted from its L state to D state. This analysis was done by comparing flow peaks on a HPLC column using many different L-amino acids. |
