So I would consider this proteins purpose as being a tag/marker rather than having an affect on the development of the trabecular meshwork. I found the GO term for protein tag it states that it attaches to a molecule and uses a way to show the activity of the attached molecule in this case the molecule would be the trabecular meshwork.
