The paper uses a mutant strain so IMP would trump IDA in this case even though the protein was isolated and purified. Figure 2c is a comparison of the two REC A to establish a rate of ATP hydrolysis and this comparison gives the crucial information about the rate of ATP hydrolysis suggesting you should use IMP instead of IDA.
