Public Assessment | Ivanerill | 2018-03-08 15:26:23 CST | You want a point to the specific evidence in the manuscript (table, figure) that shows the mapping between your protein and the GO term, and explain the rationale. Currently you have: "Even when the lacZ gene was added to the endolysin R gene, making the protein ~500 kDa, the lesions created by holing allowed the protein to pass through the membrane, effectively lysing host cells." But the lacZ fusion is not a factor in demonstrating the activity. And where are you referring to in the paper? You should also look at other possible GO terms, since maybe what is demonstrated is not release, but just lysis? e.g. GO:0044659 | Requires Changes ✔ Protein ✔ Publication ✔ Qualifier ✗ Go term ✔ Evidence ✔ With/From ✗ Notes ✔ Unique/Original | ||||||||||||||||||
Public Assessment | Scaruso | 2018-03-08 14:13:00 CST | This is a fine paper, but you should include which figure shows that the R protein (endolysin) is shown cause GO:0019076, viral release from host cell, by IDA. Presumably, you intend Fig. 1, as it is probably the best that fits your description. You may also consider using a later one for an IMP in another annotation. Also, consider looking at a GO term one step more detailed: GO:0044659, cytolysis by virus of host cell | Requires Changes ✔ Protein ✔ Publication ✔ Qualifier ✔ Evidence ✔ With/From ✗ Notes ✔ Unique/Original |
