Figure 2 has an overexpressor mutant of HSFA4A compared to wild type Arabidopsis thaliana grown in high NaCl media conditions. Overexpressng plants had higher rates of survival, root, and rosette growth in comparison to wild type. Figure 4 shows the growth of a HSFA4A t-DNA knockout mutant grown on high salinity media compared to wild type. The HSFA4A knockout had lower rates of survival and smaller rosette size when compared to wild type. Complementation of the HSFA4A gene had a partial restoration of function seen in larger rosettes and higher survival rates with high concentrations of NaCl. |
