Table 4 shows the close relationship between choline kinase activity and ethanolamine kinase activity. The wild type had both choline kinase activity and ethanolamine kinase activity. pCK1D overproduced choline kinase, and it also enhanced the ethanolamine kinase activity of the transformant. pCK1G failed to restore the choline kinase activity or the ethanolamine kinase activity.
