Furthermore, in figure 3 there was a deficiency in aconitase which is a crucial enzyme that has Fe-S proteins that function in the ETC. In figure 2 as stated that hetrozygous dOpa1 mutation there is an increase in ROS, in turn ROS damages the ETC, which leads to ETC dysfunction as seen in figure 3 where mitochondrial bioenergetics and aconitase function were both affected.
