Challenge | Ch009031, Team James Watson | 2012-03-25 17:54:10 CDT | The reason for this challenge is due to the fact that the notes are not explained thoroughly enough. The explanation should be that the Tlc5 gene was cloned into the pET-11a expression vector and introduced into the C41 strain of E. coli by electroporation. Using filtration uptake assays, it was shown, as seen in figure 2B, that Tlc5 was able to transport GTP and GDP with very similar maximum rates in the E. coli expression vector. It can also be seen in chart 3 that the only compounds that demonstrated substantial inhibition of GTP transport when present at a 10-fold excess were GTP and GDP. | 0 |
Challenge | Ke607259, Team Barbara McClintock | 2012-03-24 22:58:52 CDT | A more specific GO term for the annotation is GO:0015931. This GO term indicates nucleoside transport which is pertinent to the data presented in figure 2B which demonstrates that Tlc4 plays a role in transporting a number of nucleoside triphosphates, and also guanosine diphosphate. | 4 |
