Figure 3B - The gene encoding for LmPOT1 was cloned in the pHD309 vector enabling the integration of LmPOT1 into T. brucei, an organism related to L. major which has a low putrescine uptake. A control was made by inserting the empty vector into T. brucei. Putrescine transport was measured in both strains. The LmPOT1 T. brucei strain showed a significant ability to uptake putrescine while the control's putrescine uptake was negligible. |
