Figure 2 shows growth of G. diazotrophicus Pal5 and isogenic mutant AS (disrupted feuABC operon) in both iron-present and iron-deficient conditions. Inactivation of FeuABC affected the ability to multiply under iron-restricted conditions, indicating that feuABC is needed for iron uptake. |
