Figure 5. in 5A, the ER220 mutant is lacking in only cotH, while still having cotG and cotS present. Figure 5B shows fluorescence microscopy and the ER220 mutant shows fluorescence signal around forming spores but not around mature, free spores. This supports the necessity of cotH in forming mature spores that can germinate efficiently.
