GONUTS is under stress! The website is currently experiencing long-wait times and frequent time-outs due to the record number of students, groups, and annotations related to CACAO this semester. We are currently working on increasing performance -- please accept our apologies for the technical difficulties.

You can help reduce stress on the server by:

  1. not reloading pages frequently - this just adds
  2. opening links in new windows (so you can read the old page)

Hydrogenase of O. carboxidovorans belongs to class I of hydrogenases and is a heterodimeric 101,692-Da NiFe-protein composed of the polypeptides HoxL and HoxS.

Table 2 shows how the hydrogenase was selectively separated from O. carboxidovorans.

Denaturing PAGE revealed noncovalently bound subunits of 69 kDa (HoxL) and 30 kDa (HoxS), which occurred in a 1:0.94 molar ratio (Fig. 1), indicating a heterodimeric subunit structure of hydrogenase.
