..when stationary-phase cells of the fur mutant are tested, there is still a significant zone of H2O2 inhibition, whereas wild-type cells (and the yqfV and perR mutant strains; data not shown) have acquired a high level of resistance and grow almost to the disk edge (Fig. 4).
